Man Paddleboarding Down Columbia River

Posted: Updated:

KENNEWICK, Wash. - A Wenatchee man says he is the first person to travel the entire Columbia River stand-up paddleboarding.

Matt Honor started his journey on June 11th in Canal Flats, .B.C., and should finish in Astoria, Oregon by mid-August.  Honor has been stand-up paddleboarding for the past 3 years and says he was just looking for a new adventure.

"When I started looking around, I saw it was kind of doable, so I started looking to see if anyone had done it on a stand up paddleboard, and I couldn't find anything on it," Honor said.

Honor paddleboards for about 10 hours each day, or 30 miles. He says so far, his trip has been a lot of fun, expect for some unexpected winds and even some free flowing rapids.
