RICHLAND, Wash. - Hapo Community Credit Union is teaming up with Columbia Basin College to make sure local first responders get the latest training to save lives.
Thursday in Richland, Hapo donated $75,000 to CBC's paramedic program. The money will be used to purchase three state of the art defibrillators that will be used to train local paramedics and EMT's.
"As a training institution, it's super important that we represent all the different places where we may send students. So, we really strive to do that and with the purchase of these new ones, we're right there on the forefront," said CBC Paramedic Program Director Troy Stratford.
CBC's paramedic training program is the only one of its kind in southeast Washington and northeast Oregon.
