    KHQ.COM - On Thursday a 19-year-old drowned in Rose Lake. He's identified as Gaelen C. "Conner" Mast  from Kingston, Idaho. He was recreationally swimming with several friends when he failed to surface. After about one minute, Mast was pulled from the water by his friends and CPR was immediately initiated. He was prounced dead a short time later.

    Tragedy struck Central Valley High School on Tuesday when 18 year old Jansen Badinger died in the Spokane River. Jansen graduated just last month when he was voted "Most Likely To Bleed Blue" in recognition of his school spirit.More >>

UPDATE: There will be a memorial at Central Valley this Saturday at 11:30am for CVHS graduate Jansen Badinger. Everyone is encouraged to attend. On Wednesday we met with Jansen Badinger's girlfriend. She says that Jansen suffered an asthma attack in the water.

UPDATE: Friends and family are saddened and heartbroken by the death of 18-year-old Jansen Badinger. Badinger died on Tuesday afternoon after drowning in the Spokane River.

Badinger graduated from Central Valley High School just last month. He was voted the most likely to "bleed blue," in recognition of his school spirit and support of fellow students. On Tuesday night a vigil was held at Central Valley High to remember him.

SPOKANE‎ VALLEY, Wash. - An 18-year-old has drowned in the Spokane River. It happened on Tuesday afternoon just west of Sullivan in Spokane Valley.

Authorities tell KHQ that the teen was swimming with his girlfriend before he drowned. They were not wearing life jackets.

Bystanders pulled the man out of the water and administered CPR until medics arrived but he could not be revived.

MedStar responded to the scene but it was not needed. Fire crews used a boat to retrieve the body. The male victim has not been identified.

Crews had a challenge getting to the scene because of the terrain.

    NEW YORK (AP) - Neil Diamond is retiring from touring after he says he was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease.    Days shy of his 77th birthday, the rock legend is canceling his tour dates in Australia and New Zealand for March.  He was on his 50th anniversary tour.
