Red Cross Asking for Donations Following Pasco Apartment Fire

Posted: Updated:

PASCO, Wash. - The Red Cross says the displacement of all of those residents has been their biggest local disaster response in our region.

They want anyone who was affected by the fire to come visit the shelter. Even if they do not want to sleep there, the Red Cross can offer them support and counseling in other ways.

With 40 to 50 people currently being sheltered at Pasco High School, resources are getting used up quickly. The Red Cross operates on private donations and charity sponsors which means they need donations from the community

"The need is always there. We never know when an incident is going to happen so we want to be ready to respond appropriately. We've got resources, we know the community's very generous and this is that call to the community to say, we need your help," said Kathye Kilgore with the Red Cross.

The best way to help the local Red Cross chapter is by calling them at 509-783-6195 and setting up a monetary donation.
