KENNEWICK, Wash. - Kennewick police introduce their new fleet of high tech patrol vehicles.

The 16 ford interceptor Sedans and eight SUV's have multiple upgrades to make them more safe than the older models. They include more roll bars, backup cameras, and blind spot sensors.

"This is a huge step forward in police vehicles.  In my 24 plus years in law enforcement there's never been any significant step in police vehicles in safety and technology such as this, this is unprecedented," said Kennewick Police Sgt. Ken Lattin.

The budget for the new cars is $1.3 million and scheduled to be paid off in five years.
