ELLENSBURG, Wash.--A team of divers from the Kittitas County Sheriff's Office searched an irrigation canal trying to find any evidence that could to help solve the murder of a 23-year-old Ellensburg man.

Officials said Hector Mejia Villa was stabbed in a Central Washington University parking lot over the weekend. He later died in a Kittitas hospital.

Investigators said evidence collected over the past couple of days will be sent to the state crime lab this week.
