Pino: Shock Starting To Earn Respect

Updated:

The Spokane Shock are 13-4 heading into tonight's regular season finale against the Pittsburgh Power and Chris Pino believes the team is finally starting to earn respect.

The game is live on SWX (Comcast channel 115) at 7:00 p.m.

"Beginning of the year, towards the middle of the season, we had no respect," Pino said. "People are starting to know who we are and we're starting to show what we're all about."

The Shock will take that attitude to the field at the Spokane Arena tonight in an effort to take a winning streak to the playoffs. Spokane has already wrapped up the No. 3 sead and will host Chicago in the first-round of the playoffs next Thursday.

But head coach Andy Olson has talked in depth this week about avoiding a letdown against a lowly Pittsburgh team. One of the areas he wants to see improve is the offense. With the playoff picture already set in stone, it wouldn't be a surprise if the Shock looked for a quick lead and then went with some backups for the majority of the game.
