1st Annual Spokane Bug In

There probably isn't a more recognizable vehicle on the planet than the Volkswagen Beetle or the Volkswagen Bus.  Saturday at Spokane Raceway Park, many of those two classic cars, along with a lot of other VWs gathered for the 1st Annual Spokane Bug In. 

The event featured a car show, swap meet, and even drag races with really fast Volkswagens. 

And the best part? It also served as a fundraiser for the Second Harvest Food Bank. Spectators brought out cans of food along with their admission money and all of it went to fill the shelves of the food bank. 

Saturday's Bug In was a huge success and organizers are already looking forward to next year.

    LINCOLN COUNTY, Wash. - The Lincoln County Sheriff's Office reports a female inmate tried to escape while she was being taken back to jail after a court appearance Tuesday. Deputies say that around 11 a.m., the inmate was being escorted across the street from Superior Court when she tried to make a break for it. She was being escorted by an armed deputy and two other suspects. She was in belly chains, ankle restraints and handcuffs when she tried to run.

    TORONTO (AP) - A Toronto police official says the man accused of driving a rental van into a crowd of pedestrians in Toronto posted a "cryptic" Facebook message minutes before the attack.    Toronto Police Services Det. Sgt. Graham Gibson says he is prohibited from discussing a possible motive because suspect Alek Minassian has been charged in the case.
