Grant County Jogger Hit Twice, Suspect Arrested

Posted: Updated:

ROYAL CITY, Wash. - A man accused of hitting a female jogger twice with a car has been arrested for investigation of assault and hit-and-run.

The Grant County sheriff's office says 33-year-old Jackie Monney of Royal City was jogging along a road Sunday evening when a white sedan approached and the driver asked if she wanted a ride. The sheriff's office says after she declined, the car drove past, turned around and swerved to hit her from behind, knocking her down.

The sheriff's statement says the car turned around again and hit her a second time, dragging her a short distance before driving off.

She was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

State troopers found the car at a nearby home. The sheriff's office says 23-year-old Saul Pamas of Othello was arrested Monday after he came to the sheriff's office for an interview.
