Deputies Rescue Two Motorcyclists on Jolly Mountain

KITTITAS COUNTY, Wash. - Kittitas County Sheriff Deputies say they've rescued two stranded motorcyclists on Jolly Mountain.

Search and Rescue crews responded to the area around 8:30 PM about 20 miles northwest of Cle Elum Monday night.

Deputies say two men from Seattle, 46-year-old Darren Grimstead and 52-year-old Colin Prior had been riding motorcycles, but weren't able to get their bikes back up a steep hill. They had very little emergency supplies and decided to call for help.

Rescue crews were able to reach them by about 2:45 AM.

The Sheriff's Office recommends that anyone hiking, biking or playing in remote areas should carry enough food, water and extra clothing to spend a night should they get lost or injured..
