Bicyclist Hit By Truck Thanks Her "Heroes"

KENNEWICK, Wash. - A bicyclist, who was hit by a pickup truck in Kennewick last December, got the chance to meet her "heroes" Tuesday.

Fighting back tears, Debra Fox thanked employees from Clearwater Collision and Les Schwab, Tuesday morning, for saving her life.

Fox spent two in a half months in a Seattle hospital after being dragged almost 300 feet under a truck. She's says the employees quick action kept her from being paralyzed.

"I'm glad they didn't wait because I wouldn't be here this day standing here to be able to thank them myself," said Fox.

Fox's pelvis was crushed in the accident and had to be fully reconstructed. She hopes to be off her cane in about 6 months.

The Kennewick police department awarded both the employees and Fox with a ceremonial coin, from the chief, for their heroism and bravery.
