NBCRightNow.com - Wildfires are burning across the eastern side of Washington and it is taking a toll on air quality.
The Washington Department of Ecology's Air Quality Program currently lists the Mid-Columbia's air quality as good while Yakima's is hitting moderate levels. However, parts of Yakima and Kittitas County are listed as unhealthy for sensitive groups.
"I think that people want to know what's happening in their communities and we want to make information as quickly as possible available to them because getting the word out can be kind of slow. And certain populations want to check on it more frequently," said Joye Redfield-Wilder with the Department of Ecology.
The department says Tuesday night winds may make conditions worse. To keep track of air quality in your area, click here.
