UPDATE: Doubletree fire near Mica Bay in CDA is now 100% contained. Crews will remain on scene throughout the night. They hope to begin the mop up phase Wednesday morning.

Fire officials on scene of what is now being called the Double Tree Fire near Mica Bay in Coeur d'Alene say they have the fire about 60% contained and hope to have 100% containment sometime Tuesday night.

We are told the fire began as a beach fire that got out of control and quickly spread to the woods above the beach. Homes were threatened at one point, but crews have managed to get a line around the fire and prevent it from spreading to any homes.
