Serrato's Blast Gives Indians Walk-Off Win

Updated:

Barrett Serrato's two-out, two-run home run gave the Spokane Indians a walk-off 6-4 win in 11 innings over the Salem-Keizer Volcanoes on Wednesday at Avista Stadium.

Serrato's homer off Volcanoes reliever Daniel Slania ended five innings of scoreless ball that forced the game into extras. Marcus Greene had led off the inning by reaching base after getting hit, but was out at second on a fielder's choice by Janluis Castro. After a fly out by Joe Jackson, Serrato hit his game-winner.

Justin Sprenger got the win for the Indians after working around a leadoff walk in the top of the 11th to pitch a scoreless inning.

Spokane starter Kyle Castro allowed four runs in five innings on five hits and three walks. Castro also struck out four.

Janluis Castro gave the Indians an early lead with a three-run home run in the first, his third of the season.
