Pasco Chamber of Commerce Warns Businesses Of "Best Award" Scam

Posted: Updated:

PASCO, Wash. - The Pasco Chamber of Commerce is warning businesses to be aware of an email scam claiming their recipients of the "2013 Best of Pasco Award."

Executive Director for the Chamber, Colin Hastings, says at least three chamber members received the message alerting them that their business had participated in the "The Best of Pasco Award Program" and sent money to receive a trophy.

The email directs the recipient to click on a link to receive their award and redirects to a website called the Pasco Award Program, encouraging the business owner to purchase an award package ranging from $79.99-$199.98.

Hastings says the email is a scam and that the award program is not sponsored by the Pasco Chamber or the City of Pasco.

He declined to identify which businesses received the potential scam.
