YAKIMA, Wash.-- The city of Yakima wants
to make it easier for tourists and locals to know what's going on every day.
They recently launched a series of
pamphlets showcasing the entertainment, historical places, and businesses you
can find in downtown Yakima.
The project is entirely paid for by
Economic Development Manager Sean Hawkins
says the pamphlets were a top priority.
"We had nothing in the past to give
a traveler that might be popping in and says 'Hey, what can I do? What's going
on here?' and the travelers want that type of information, but locals want that
type of information as well," Hawkins said.
They've also passed out window stickers
to downtown businesses that you can scan with your phone to instantly check out
any new events.
The city has also updated the downtown Yakima
website with all the new information. You can visit that here.
