WSU Begins Fall Camp

Posted: Updated:

Mike Leach held his pre-camp teleconference in advance of Washington State's first day of fall camp on Friday.

The big news: Well, there really wasn't anything groundbreaking, or really new.

What Leach did reaffirm, though, was that Connor Halliday has the upper hand in the quarterback position. That being said, Austin Apodaca will share repetitions and have a shot at the starting job.

"He continued to polish his skills," Leach said. "He's the most experienced at quarterback we have, which helps him a little bit, too. He continued to improve what he does. Halliday continued to improve his ability to utilize the dimension of the whole offense.

Fall camp has also been moved to Lewiston, ID due to construction that leaves only half of Rogers Field available for use. The team will be practicing at Sacajawea Junior High from Aug. 2 to Aug 11.
