2013 Highland Games

The area's Scottish community came together Saturday for a wee bit of fun at the Spokane County Fairgrounds for the 2013 Highland Games.

From bagpipes to kilts to tall wooden poles called cabers, it was a competition like no other around the area.

People competed in sports like the "Scottish Hammer Throw," the "Stone-Put," and "Caber Toss."

In addition to the sports, there was also lots of drumming and dancing.

All together, everyone says they had a lot of fun and are looking forward to next year.

    Starbucks baristas have sparked a spooky rumor on social media.  According to photos released online, Starbucks may be unleashing a terrifying treat ahead of Halloween- a 'Zombie Frappuccino' that is sure to haunt your taste buds.  The 'Zombie Frap' is said to be a blend of green apple caramel powder and pink powder, topped with pink whipped cream to resemble brains.     SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) - Top government lawyers representing 19 U.S. states on Wednesday asked a federal judge in California to force the administration of President Donald Trump to make health care subsidy payments that Trump abruptly cut off last week. The monthly payments would normally be scheduled to go out Friday.
