Grandview Man Injured in Shooting Remains in Intensive Care

Posted: Updated:

YAKIMA, Wash. - A 42-year-old man from Grandview wounded in a drive-by shooting remains in intensive care in the hospital.

Family members of Jesse Escobar say he's still unable to breathe on his own. Police say Escobar had been sitting in a lawn chair in his front yard on July 30th, when gang members drove by, fire several shots, and drove off. Escobar was hit several times in the back. Paramedics airlifted him to Harborview Medical Center in critical condition.

Police and Escobar's family members say he does not have ties to street gangs. Officers say Escobar may not have been the intended target.
