US 97 Speed Limit Restored near Satus Pass

Posted: Updated:

SATUS PASS, Wash. - The Washington State Department of Transportation says the speed limit along a 12-mile section of US 97 near Satus Pass is now back to up 60 MPH.

The DOT had reduced speeds on the highway from the Satus Creek Bridge in Yakima County to Timmer Lane in Klickitat County, down to 40 MPH. The DOT had previously closed the highway because of fire dangers.

The Transportation Department says drivers should still use caution while crews working the Mile Marker 28 Fire continue to access the highway for mop up efforts.
