Menefit to Benefit Prostate Cancer Screenings

Posted: Updated:

KENNEWICK, Wash.-- The Tri-Cities Cancer Center will host a Menefit this Friday to support prostate cancer screenings.

The evening of wine and games at Bookwalter Winery will raise funds for the biannual free prostate cancer screenings at the center.

Foundation workers say it's important to raise awareness for the cancer that often doesn't get enough attention and affects one in six men.

"We get a lot of people who want to do breast cancer awareness events, which are great, but we don't get a lot of people wanting to do these kinds of events that promote prostate cancer. So it's just great we have a partner in Bookwalter that wants to do that," said Elizabeth McLaughlin, Tri-Cities Cancer Center Foundation Director.

Tickets are $50 if you buy them at the Tri-Cities Cancer Center, at Bookwalter or on the winery's website.

You can also buy them at the door for $75. The event starts Friday at 6pm.

WASHINGTON: It's barely pumpkin latte season and already signs are up advertising *flu* shots! One vaccine that's been off the market for a couple years is back this year. For those who tend to get a little needle frantic, the CDC now says this year's nasal spray vaccine should be effective for this year's flu strain. I...More >>
