Posted: Updated:

SEATTLE (AP) - There's been an unconfirmed sighting in Washington of a car wanted in connection with two deaths and child abduction in Southern California.

Washington State Patrol Trooper Russ Winger told KOMO Radio that a driver near Bremerton reported seeing a blue Nissan hatchback with a man driving and a woman passenger. The caller said the car was westbound at 7:45 a.m. Thursday on Highway 101 near the Jefferson-Clallam county line, which is about 40 miles northwest of Seattle.

Winger says a trooper checked the area and was unable to locate the car.

A California Amber Alert was expanded to Oregon and Washington as authorities search for James Lee DiMaggio who is believed to be driving a blue Nissan Versa with 16-year-old Hannah Anderson.
