Tri-Cities Named Location of the Month for Making Movies in WA
TRI-CITIES, Wash. - The non-profit group Washington Filmworks recently named the Tri-Cities the "Location of the Month" for filming movies in the state.
The group works to promote Washington as a great destination for film and video production crews.
A June article on their website highlighted the area's geography and nostalgic downtowns as attractions.
But Tri-Cities Visitor & Convention Bureau Senior VP Kim Shugart pointed out one of the more popular tourist attractions. "I think our Washington wine industry is of interest. We've worked with a company that's interested in doing a film about the Washington wine industry, or setting it in the background of the vineyards. So we have a lot to offer, a big variety and potential for filmmakers to come consider our area."
Other attractions for film crews are the weather, and flights in and out of the Tri-cities airport.
