KENNEWICK, Wash. -- A Kennewick man is facing second degree assault charges after police say he hit another man in the head with a brick.

Kennewick Police were called to the 700 block of North Arthur Street around 5:45PM Thursday for a fight in progress.

During an investigation, police say 39-year-old Mahdi Saleh swung a brick into the head of 36-year-old Ameer Mohammed. Mohammed suffered a laceration to his head and was treated at Kennewick General Hospital.

Police say the two are related by marriage and live together in the same apartment.

Saleh was arrested and booked into the Benton County Jail on a 72-hour-hold.
