New local athletic directors are ready and excited for the challenge

TRI-CITIES, Wash. -- Two high schools in the Mid-Columbia Conference have new athletic directors. Pasco High School promotes assistant football coach Jake Davis. He went to Southridge High School as a student.

Hanford High School's new athletic director is Eric Davis. He was most recently the AD at Ellensburg High school. Both say they are ready to help their student-athletes succeed right away.

"The variety of sports and the variety of levels, and genders I've coached kind of allows me to get an overall sense that no two athletes are the same, and because of that you got to find a way to reach these kids, and you do that by having an understanding of where they're coming from," Jake Davis said.

"Watching kids grow, watching kids succeed, watching kids get excited, watching kids win. Sometimes even watching kids lose and how they handle adversity and how they can grow and how that's going to help them in their future. Those are all things I just love about this job," Eric Davis added.
