Americans Evacuated Out Of Pakistan

Posted: Updated:

WASHINGTON (AP) - It's the latest sign of the threats facing U.S. diplomats in parts of the Muslim world.

The government is warning Americans not to travel to Pakistan. And it's evacuated most U.S. government personnel from Pakistan's second-largest city, because of what's described as a threat to the consulate there.

The action came amid a flurry of deadly militant attacks in Pakistan.

Officials say the Pakistan evacuation is not related to the al-Qaida threat that resulted in the temporary closing of U.S. missions in 16 countries.
