CBC Students Build New Benton-Franklin Fair & Rodeo Sign

Posted: Updated:

PASCO, Wash. - People attending this year's Benton-Franklin Fair and Rodeo will be greeted with a brand new hand-made archway.

The metal sign is 30 feet wide, 8 feet tall. It features a bucking horse with a roping cowboy and will be located at the entrance of the rodeo arena.

Welding students at Columbia Basin College in Pasco put the sign together. They say it was difficult, yet exciting.

"The design was handed to us...we had to grid it out and we basically took a 6 inch drawing and made this. It was a learning experience...it was a lot of fun though, I enjoyed it," Nolan Pickett, a welding student at CBC.

You can see the new archway up close during the Benton-Franklin Fair and Rodeo, August 20th-24th at the Benton County Fairgrounds in Kennewick.
