Warden Woman Killed in Motorcycle Crash Near George
GEORGE, Wash. - A 50-year-old Warden woman critically injured in a motorcycle accident west of George died of her injuries at a hospital Friday.
According to the Grant County Sheriff's Office, Patricia Reiber-Murphy was driving a 2001 Yamaha motorcycle on Silica Road Southwest. Two other motorcyclists ahead of her went to make a left turn onto Vantage Road.
Deputies say Reiber-Murphy apparently did not notice the two other motorcycles turning, lost control of her motorcycle and skidded about 60 feet. She was thrown from the motorcycle.
She was flown on Northwest MedStar to Central Washington Hospital in Wenatchee.
Reiber-Murphy was wearing a helmet.
Grant County Sheriff's Motor Traffic Unit is investigating.
