Lightning lit up the sky over the Inland Northwest Friday night and lasted well into Saturday morning. When I got into work Saturday morning, we have over 125 pictures sent in to us through email and Facebook, so naturally, I wanted to compile all of those pictures into one slideshow so we can re-live the magnificent storm all over again!     NAMPA, Idaho (AP) - A driver accused of intentionally hitting and killing young Idaho newlyweds holding hands on a sidewalk has pleaded not guilty.   The Idaho Press-Tribune reports 37-year-old Jason Verwer entered his not guilty plea Friday to two counts of second-degree murder.   Authorities say 22-year-old Matthew Parkinson and 17-year-old Amelia Parkinson were killed in late January while walking along a road in Fruitland.

(AP) - Washington State University researchers are halting their development of a marijuana breath test for fear of backlash from the federal government.   Researchers hoped the breathalyzer would help law enforcement officers detect THC, the active ingredient in marijuana, in motorists.

    Wisconsin father gets 5-year sentence for daughter's neglect death

    LA CROSSE, Wis. - A Wisconsin father convicted in the death of his malnourished, dehydrated 3-year-old daughter has been sentenced to five years in prison. Thirty-three-year-old Dylan Bartsh was also sentenced Wednesday to five years of extended supervision. Bartsh earlier pleaded no contest to child neglect resulting in death in the October 2014 death of Audryna Bartsh.
