Indians Shut Out Emeralds, 5-0

EUGENE, Ore. -- Jamie Jarmon and Joe Jackson hit 2-run homeruns as the Spokane Indians took the rubber match of a five-game series with the Emeralds, winning 5-0 on Monday. 

Eugene starting pitcher Jimmy Brasoban took a no-hitter into the fifth inning before the Indians erupted for a five-run inning.  Janluis Castro broke up the no-hit bid in the fifth inning and finished 2-for-3 at the plate to boost his season average to .253. 

Kelvin Vasquez picked up his first win as an Indian, tossing 5.2 innings of 2-hit shutout ball, while walking three and striking out four.

Spokane improves to an even 20-20 overall on the season, 8-10 in the second half standings.
The Indians continue their season-high eight-game road trip Tuesday against the Tri-City Dust Devils.  They return home Friday for a televised game on SWX against the Hillsboro Hops.
