RICHLAND, Wash.- Pacific Northwest National Laboratory will take part in a federal project to develop innovative heating, cooling and insulation technologies.
The Department of Energy says the 12 projects nationwide are part of the Obama Administration's efforts to reduce energy bills for American families and businesses and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
The projects will receive a nearly $9 million Energy Department investment, matched by about $1 million in private sector funding.
The energy department says Pacific Northwest National Laboratory in Richland will receive $750,000 to develop low-cost window technology to reflect light and balance the absorption of light for solar energy production. The windows can be installed in homes and businesses.
