PASCO, Wash. -- The City of Pasco is celebrating a new addition to one of their parks.

The Kiwanis Club of Pasco built a new picnic shelter for Memorial Park, and on Thursday, they handed it over to the city.

The Kiwanis shelter was dedicated to the city at a ceremony in the park.

"It's right by the play area, so it's just such a benefit for parents to be able to watch their children and it's a plus all the way through for the City of Pasco," said Pasco City Council member Al Yenney.

Next week, more updates will be made to the park, including new play equipment thanks to a $50,000 grant from Boundless Playground.

In 2014,a new walking path will be added.
