Kangaroo On The Loose In Deer Park!

Posted: Updated:
DEER PARK, Wash. -
A strange sighting in Deer Park had many questioning their eyesight Sunday after a kangaroo was spotted hopping down the road!

At first, several people thought it was a dog. One woman also says her family thought she was crazy when she told them what she had seen hopping through her front yard. However, this is not something she made up.

The kangaroo, named Hopkins, was scared and escaped out of the owner's eight foot enclosure. He has now been missing for more than 24 hours and is skiddish around people he does not know.

If you see him, send the owner and email at spotgofast@yahoo.com. She will be out searching for the kangaroo until he returns. Do not chase him, the extra stress could cause him to die. She says Hopkins is most active from six to nine in the morning and six to nine in the evening.

Right now a wallaroo is hopping around the wilderness near Deer Park, after escaping from an enclosure. A wallaroo is a member of the kangaroo family. The marsupial is slightly larger than a wallaby and smaller than a kangaroo. The animals are not native to the Inland Northwest, and are sought after by exotic animal farms.
