Making STRIDES For Disabled Children

KENNEWICK, Wash.- A charity event was held in Kennewick Sunday to benefit STRIDES therapeutic horse riding.

Some of the horses from Saturday's fair parade took part in a show at Eastside Equestrian Center. Different riding groups displayed their tricks and talents. Donations were collected and they all went to the STRIDES program, which holds riding therapy lessons for disabled children.

"I've had parents cry at lessons not knowing the abilities of their children and being able to find it out when they're on the back of a horse," said Jill McCary, the Executive Director for STRIDES.

$3,000 were raised thanks to the more than 300 people that showed up. That money will help send dozens of kids through the therapy program.
