ELLENSBURG, Wash. - Ellensburg Police say a man has admitted to burglarizing several churches in the area.
Officers say five local churches have been burglarized in the last two weeks. Early Tuesday morning, police say they discovered a window had been removed at the First Presbyterian Church on East 3rd Avenue.
When other officers arrived, they say they stopped a man coming out a back door. Police arrested him after he admitted to the crimes during an interview.
Detectives say they served three search warrants and recovered over $4,000 in stolen property including microphones, keyboards, equalizers, guitars and amplifiers.
Police say all of the items have been returned to the churches.
