KENNEWICK, Wash. - The Benton-Franklin Fair and Rodeo is where the wild things are this week, including exotic animals.
Brad's World Reptiles opened Wednesday morning and features around 40 different animals including snakes lizards and frogs. There's also information about the creatures, you can pet some of them or even have your picture taken with a real alligator.
Animal handlers say the exhibit is meant to show the public just how harmless the animals are and to break the stigma about them.
"People are always like reptiles are gross...they're terrible creatures, but they are such a huge part of the ecosystem and they play such a big role in our lives and people need to know that," said Abbie Harold, an animal handler with the exhibit.
Brad's World Reptiles is located inside the Kids Zone at the fairgrounds. The exhibit is free and open daily from 10:00 a.m. -7:00 p.m.
