Stores to Soon Offer Liquor Tastings

Posted: Updated:

RICHLAND, Wash. - You will soon be able to taste some liquor before you buy! Mid Columbia Wine and Spirits in Richland applied for that right and are just a few weeks away from making it a reality.

A new law in the state now allows for liquor tastings in small amounts with the proper permitting.

Store owners tell NBC Right Now they can't wait to offer the samples.

"It'll be great for business because people have not been able to taste spirits before they bought. This will open up the new door, some of the new items, really good products out there, since people have not tried it so they're hesitant to buy," said Mid Columbia Wine and Spirits owner Rajiv Malhan.

The tastings will be held as a sort of event where those taking part will have to purchase a ticket in advance. At Mid Columbia Wine and Spirits it will cost around $10 for a taste of three different spirits.
