Americans Rookie Camp opens with high aspirations

KENNEWICK, Wash. -- Thursday Tri-City Americans Rookie Camp opened practice and scrimmages. It is a chance to see to the future of the Ams. The Washington natives trying out include Pasco's Carson Bergstrom and Richland's Jacob Loman. The Ams' top draft picks are excited to join Tri-City's excellent tradition of hockey.

"Being on the ice with the veterans yesterday. Carey Price out there, watching Carey Price on TV, it's a pleasure to be on the ice. Like I said, it's a dream come true to be here especially this weather, this hockey. The competitive level is high. It's a pleasure to be here," said Park AuCoin, Americans 2013 1st round pick

"I'd say hard working, chemistry. They're all tight in there which is a great attribute for a hockey team to win games. The tighter you are as a team, the tighter you're going to play out there as a team which is great," added Nolan Yaremko, Americans 2013 2nd round selection.

Through Saturday fans can head to the Toyota Center to watch morning practice or 7 p.m. scrimmages.
