North Central Looks to Move Program Forward

Posted: Updated:

SPOKANE, WA -- The North Central Indians are coming off a 1-9 season in 2012, but after a strong offseason the Indians are looking to turn their program around.

"It feels great to be back out here again, you put a lot of work into the offseason going to camps and 7-on-7's and spend a lot of time in the weight room," said Head Coach Brian Gardner. "It feels really good to be back on the field practicing with the guys."

They return several veteran leaders and have built a family feel to the team during the summer.

"I'm super excited," said tight end and linebacker Marcus Saugen. "I love these guys out here, it's going to be fun. I mean they are hard workers, so it's going to be fun."

In order to have a successful season, NC will need to  improve run game and become not so one dimensional but with the lack of depth and sixe, it won't be easy.

"It's perfect, I love it out here," said quarterback Quinn Zerba. "I love being out here with my fellas. Perfect weather, couldn't ask for anything better."

North Central opens the 2013 season agaisnt Mt. Spokane on September 6th.
