Kennewick School District Celebrates the Re-Opening of Cascade Elementary

Posted: Updated:

KENNEWICK, Wash.-  After a year-long remodel, the Kennewick School District cut the ribbon on the newly remodeled Cascade Elementary Friday.

The 30-year-old building has been completely renovated with new electrical, plumbing, fire suppression, heating and ventilation systems.

Students heading back to school will see larger classrooms, skylights, new kindergarten wing and a bigger gymnasium.

The former gymnasium space has been converted into a cafeteria and multi-purpose room.

The remodel was part of the 68-million dollar school bond to build a new elementary and renovate four elementary schools that were over 30-years-old with aging infrastructures, approved in 2009.
