Valley Theater Company will conduct open auditions for its holiday show, "A Christmas Carol," on Sunday and Monday, Sept. 8 and 9 at the Princess Theater, 1228 Meade Avenue, in Prosser. VTC will present a non-musical version of Charles Dickens' classic story, with David Sullivan as director. When VTC performed the holiday tale in 2011, Sullivan portrayed the cantankerous Ebenezer Scrooge. Sullivan, who has previously directed children's theater in Spokane, invites children ages 8 and older, men and women to audition. Roles include Scrooge, Bob Cratchit and his family, Mr. Fezziwig and his family, young Scrooge, his sister, friends and fiancée, other minor characters, and the ghosts of Jacob Marley, Christmas Past, Present and Future. Auditions will include cold readings from the script. Theatre doors will open at 6:30 p.m. for sign-in; auditions will start at 7 p.m. Auditionees may attend either or both nights of auditions. VTC and the Princess Theatre are online at www.ThePrincessTheatre.net.
