Benton Franklin Fair Wraps Up

Posted: Updated:

KENNEWICK, Wash.- This year marked the 65th Benton Franklin Fair and Rodeo, it wrapped up Saturday evening and clean up began shortly after.

Today vendors and crews were out at the fair grounds breaking down the fair structures and vendor booths.

We're told this year's attendance numbers are looking similar to last year's but we wont know for sure until Monday.

Some features of the fair like the transit services did see a lot more people, especially during 5 to 7 p.m. as people made their way to the concerts.

"And just people really want to come back and get their favorite fair good so its just a great community event, family event, great support," said Lori Lancaster, Benton Franklin Fair and Rodeo Manager.

The fair also benefited from good weather dodging possible thunderstorms and it may have seen record breaking numbers in carnival ride sales.

Lancaster said the live stock auctions brought in about $700,000.
