    CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. (AP) - NASA is marking the 28th anniversary of the Hubble Space Telescope’s launch with a peek into a wild stellar nursery. Scientists released the picture Thursday in advance of next week’s milestone. Resembling a vivid watercolor painting, the photo captures an immense, blindingly bright star emerging from its cosmic nest in a burst of ultraviolet radiation and stellar wind.

    MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - After Prince had to be revived from a drug overdose a week before his death, one friend told the musical superstar that he needed to stop taking painkillers. But Prince said he couldn’t — his hands hurt so much that if he quit, he’d have to stop performing. “This piano tour I think was getting to his hands,” singer Judith Hill told investigators, according to a transcript of her interview.

    LOS ANGELES (AP) - A homeless man was charged Friday with murder in a random attack on a California father who was stabbed in the neck as his 5-year-old daughter sat in his lap in a crowded beachside steakhouse. Jamal Jackson, 49, was charged with first-degree murder in the death of 35-year-old Anthony Mele. He was being held in Ventura County jail on a $1.5 million bail.
