Yakima Teen to be Tried as Adult in Homicide Case

UPDATE/YAKIMA, Wash. - A judge has ruled that a Yakima teenager will be tried as an adult and face murder charges in superior court.

Police arrested 17-year-old Juan Venegas Sunday in connection with the murder of 20-year-old Juan Hernandez in Union Gap two weeks ago.

Hernandez was shot and died at the scene of a house party on the 2100 block of South 7th Avenue in Union Gap.

UNION GAP, Wash. - Union Gap Police say they have arrested a teenager for a homicide earlier this month.

Police say 17-year-old Juan A. Venegas shot 20-year-old Juan A. Hernandez in the shoulder back on August 11th.

Officers say Hernandez bled to death on the 2100 block of South 7th Avenue before help arrived. 

Police arrested Venegas early Sunday morning and booked him into the Yakima County Juvenile Justice Center on first degree murder charges.
