Following Arrest, Man Kicks Kennewick Officer, Spits in Face

KENNEWICK, Wash. - A man faces third degree assault charges after police say he kicked an officer and spit in his face.

Kennewick Police responded to a business on the 1100 block of Columbia Center Boulevard Sunday night, to reports that 48-year-old Demi Owen Mack was drunk and causing a disturbance. 

Officers say security told Mack to go to his room, and later told him to leave, but he refused. 

Police say while they were escorting him out, he spit in Officer J. Peterson's face, and then kicked the officer when the reached the patrol car. 

Police arrested and booked him into the Benton County Jail on two counts of assault.
