Yakima Police Looking for Shooting Suspects

YAKIMA, Wash. -- Police are looking for two men in connection with a shooting Sunday afternoon that sent one man to the hospital in Yakima.

Neighbors say they heard gunshots on the corner of West Prasch Avenue and 13th Avenue, and then again on South 11th Avenue.

Police say a man fired a 16-gauge-shotgun, then got into a car with another person and drove off.

That's when shots went of again a few streets over and police found the gun on the ground.

Officers say the shooter was intoxicated and it all started with an argument.

"From what I understand, the dispute is over the guy with the shotgun claiming that was his territory," said Lt. Nolan Wentz from the Yakima Police Department.

Police say a man was taken to a local hospital after he was shot in the chest.

When officers arrived at the house on 13th Avenue on Sunday, several people came out of the house where the shots were heard.

Police say it looks like it could be gang-related and that it's still an open investigation.
