YAKIMA, Wash. -- A new face will take over as development director at the Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Yakima.

Stephen Wilmes will be responsible for developing and implementing long range strategies to raise money for childcare and social service programs.

He'll also be in charge of engaging sponsors in ongoing service activities and maintaining relationships with board members and donors.

"I think that there's a lot of work that needs to be done for Catholic charities here in Yakima, and my hope would be that we would be able to make our presence known as far as development is concerned," believes Wilmes.

Wilmes will begin his new position August 26th.

Catholic Charities primarily provides services within the Diocese of Yakima that is made up of Chelan, Douglas, Yakima, Kittitas, Grant, Benton, and Klickitat Counties in Central Washington.  In addition, services are offered in Franklin, Walla Walla, Okanogan, Adams, Skamania and Clark counties.  It has a staff of more than 275 employees and a combined annual operating budget of $23 million dollars.
