Tri-Cities Union Gospel Mission Asking for Back-to-School Donations

Posted: Updated:

PASCO, Wash. - Students all over the area are going back to school this week but some of them still need essential school supplies.

The Tri-Cities Union Gospel Mission is asking for your help to donate school supplies for children in need. Last week, they gave away 96 backpacks to 62 families. They also supplied them with other school essentials.

The mission holds various give-aways every Thursday, but with school starting they mostly need school related donations.

"The urgent need, I would say, is just the basic supplies but also backpacks and even kids clothing is a huge need," said Chariss Warner, the Director of the Women and Children's Shelter.

Those wishing to donate can take supplies to the Union Gospel Mission on 2nd Ave. in Pasco or The New Edge Wellness Center on 10th Ave. in Kennewick.

The mission is expecting to need supplies for another 100 children at their give-away this week. They are mostly looking for backpacks, clothes, and other essential school supplies.
