SUNNYSIDE, Wash. - A man from Sunnyside faces assault charges after police say he stabbed his stepfather  with a knife.

Sunnyside Police say 24-year-old Emmanuel Rivera stabbed his stepfather at a home on Madison Drive Wednesday morning.

Officers say the two had been arguing after the man refused to give his stepson money to buy marijuana.

Paramedics took the stepfather to the hospital with non-life threatening stab wounds to the arm and upper body.

Police arrested and booked Rivera for first degree assault - domestic violence.
