UPDATE: School Bus Crash In Deer Park

Posted: Updated:
DEER PARK, Wash. -

At 3:30pm on Wednesday a Deer Park school bus was hit by driver pulling out of a driveway. The car was heading East and hit the bus as it was moving west bound. The front of the car went under the bus, causing the bus driver to drive over the front of the car while keeping the bus from rolling over.

There were about 25 children on the bus, mostly elementary school students. Six to eight children had minor injuries. Parents picked up most of the children and another bus was dispatched to pick up those children whose parents could not be reached.

Fire District No. 4 is on scene and the bus will be towed from the scene.

It is unclear at this time whether a citation will be given to the driver of the car.

UPDATE: The accident occurred near the 6900 block of West Herman. The Deer Park school bus was traveling in the middle of the dirt road. A car turning out a driveway did not see the bus and hit the bus. Injuries were minor.

PREVIOUS DETAILS: A Deer Park School Bus has crashed at Monroe Road and Herman. This incident has been confirmed through the school district. We will bring you the latest information as we receive it.
